· Art Team
Origami, the ancient Japanese art form of paper folding, offers endless possibilities for creativity and craftsmanship.
Through the art of origami, we can turn a blank sheet of paper into a variety of different looks.
Today, let's show you how to fold boats, airplanes, and stars out of paper.
The Boat
The boat, a classic origami design, represents a sense of adventure and exploration. To fold a simple boat, follow these steps:
a. Start with a square piece of paper, colored side up.
b. Fold the paper in half diagonally to form a triangle, then unfold.
c. Fold the left and right corners of the triangle up to the top point to create a smaller triangle.
d. Fold the two bottom corners up, bringing them to the top point of the triangle.
e. Fold the left and right sides of the boat inward, aligning them with the center line.
f. Open up the bottom of the boat, gently pushing the sides apart until the boat takes shape.
The Airplane
The origami airplane represents the thrill of flight and a sense of wonder. Follow these steps:
a. Begin with a rectangular piece of paper, colored side up.
b. Fold the paper in half lengthwise to form a long strip.
c. Unfold the strip, and fold the top two corners diagonally down to meet the center crease.
d. Fold the newly formed top triangle down to the bottom edge, aligning the edges. This creates the wings.
e. Fold the bottom portion of the paper up, meeting the bottom edge of the triangle.
f. Fold the newly formed triangle in half upwards.
g. Fold the pointed top section down, creating the airplane's nose.
h. Adjust the wings and tail as desired to give the airplane its final shape.
The Star
Follow these steps for a simple five-pointed star:
a. Start with a rectangular strip of paper, colored side up.
b. Fold the strip in half lengthwise, then unfold.
c. Fold the two outer corners of one end of the strip down to meet the center crease, forming a point.
d. Repeat the previous step with the other end of the strip, creating a second point.
e. Fold the top point down towards the center, aligning it with the bottom edge.
f. Rotate the folded strip 180 degrees.
g. Repeat steps c through e on the other side of the strip, creating the remaining three points.
h. Gently push the center of the strip up to make the star puff out, forming a three-dimensional shape.
