Dear Lykkers. Padam Talao, one of the city's biggest lakes, is situated deep within Ranthambore National Park. This lake is thought to be the location of Princess Padmavati's bathing baths and the site of her sati.
The lake is surrounded by thick trees, and a variety of animals use it in order to cool off in the intense heat. In the morning, one can also see the endangered Chinkara Deer.

Getting There

Padma Talao is accessible by booking a safari tour in Ranthambhore National Park. The nearest town, Sawai Madhopur, is about 10 km away and is connected to major Indian cities by road and rail.

The salient features of Padma Talao

Natural Beauty: The lake is encircled by rocky terrain and thick forests, making for a beautiful scene. The lotus blossoms that bloom during the monsoon season give the landscape a colorful touch.
Spotting Wildlife: One of the animals favorite places to water at Ranthambore is the Padam Talao. At the lake's side, tigers, leopards, deer, monkeys, and peacocks can be observed drinking in the early morning and late evening. A great way for tourists to witness the animals in their natural environment is from machans, or huts, on observation posts close to the Padam Talao. Known for stalking deer that came to the lakeside to drink, Genghis was one of the fabled tigers of Ranthambore.
Ruins of Rajbagh: The historic Rajbagh ruins, which are close to Padma Talao and are the remains of old stone buildings, give the area a mysterious quality that makes it perfect for history buffs.
The Padam Talao's banks are home to the hunting lodge known as Jogi Mahal. From the Jogi Mahal, the vista is breathtaking. Built by Jaipur's royal family, Jogi Mahal was used as a hunting lodge by several Jaipur generations.
